About the host organisation
Y.E.S. is a non-governmental non-profit organisation that aims to contribute to the development of the youths by inspiring them a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance. It promotes mobility within and beyond Europe, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the employability and inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background. Our mission is to promote and bring added value to participative education and active citizenship while developing solid partnerships with institutions, organisations and individuals that have an activity corresponding to our values and objectives.
About the project
The current project is a follow up of a previous highly successful YE “Entrepreneurial Youths” and it finds its origin in the “PBA – youth employment and entrepreneurship” where together with our partners we have identified the need to not just encourage the young people towards entrepreneurship but also to capacitate them to build up a relevant marketing campaign by making extensive use of Photography, Video-Making, and Web-development.
Organizing a Youth Exchange that will reunite 40 young participants (18-21 years old), from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey, and 10 group leaders, 2 of whom will facilitate the activities. The YE provides an answer to the need of encouraging young people towards entrepreneurial activities while capacitating them with the basic knowledge on how to conduct a successful visual marketing campaign by the means of Photography, Video-Making, and Web-development.
O1. Raise awareness among the young participants about the importance of the entrepreneurial sector in a market economy and make them aware of the process of starting an entrepreneurial activity.
O2. Empower the participants with the basic knowledge and skills in conducting a successful visual marketing campaign by the efficient use of Photography, Video-Making and Web-development means.
O3. Capacitate the participants to involve in the DEOR process and share the newly acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes with their peers in the communities they come from.
Profile of the participants
Our project includes 40 participants and 10 group leaders. Each partner will select 8 young participants aged 18-21 motivated to develop an empirical understanding of entrepreneurship. Each partner will include two young participants that face fewer opportunities (economic, geographical and social obstacles) from rural and small urban areas, as well as select two group leaders.
Results and impact:
This YE supplements the need of the participants to get hands on experience on what entrepreneurship is and why should they consider involving themselves in such activities. Through our sessions the young people develop their spirit of initiative and entrepreneurship, public speaking capacity; learn how to interact in a nonformal context with other participants from a different country. Moreover, they develop hands-on experience on how to build successfully a visual marketing campaign by the means of Photography, Video-Making, and Web-Development.

Accommodation and venue
The youth exchange will take place in Bălan, a small town which lies in the Ciuc Depression. It is surrounded by the Hășmaș Mountains and provides a breathtaking view of the beautiful nature. The town’s altitude is 850 m; this rises to 1792 m at the highest peak of the Hășmaș Mountains and the town is crossed by the Olt River which originates from the near mountains. According to the census from 2011, it had a population of 5,864 of which 3,625 (61.82%) were Romanians, and 2,124 (36.22%) were Hungarians. It is situated 37 km away from Miercurea Ciuc, the county seat of Harghita County, 28 km away from Gheorgheni and 63 km away from the Red Lake, is the largest barrier lake which was formed in 1837 after a landslide blocked the Bicaz Valley. For the accommodation, we will face the facility of “Liviu Rebreanu” High School – that provides lodging of 3 stars. The activities will take place in conference rooms and outdoor. Accommodation will be arranged for 2 persons/room, grouped by gender. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at the same location every day, plus the coffee breaks. Each room has its own bathroom.
Access to the internet: Unfortunately in Romania the internet services are not highly reliable. At the location, there is limited access to the internet (Wi-Fi). Please leave your work at home and do not rely on the Wi-Fi.
How to get there
Arrival day: 25th of October

No participant can arrive later than the arrival day or depart earlier than the day of departure.The participants can arrive in Romania a few days before the mobility and can leave a few days after, but have to arrange food and accommodation for themselves for these days.
Make sure that you use the most economical transport means. Use only public transport.
From Bucharest International Airport you have to go to the train station at Gara de Nord. Bus no. 780 connects Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport with the Gara de Nord (main railway station). The price for one trip costs less than 2 Euro and it takes about 40 minutes. The magnetic card valid for two travels costs 7 lei.
Airport bus stops: in front of the Arrivals Terminal and Departures Terminal Bus no. 783 connects Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport with the city center. This line runs day and night. At night, the bus leaves every 40 minutes.

By train: After you arrive at the train station, there are several trains that run from Bucharest to Izvoru Oltului (the closest train station) every day. You can check the schedule on infofer.ro and write at Plecare: Bucuresti Nord and at Sosire: Izvoru Oltului. Ticket price: around 16-17 Euros and the journey takes about 5 hours.
To buy train tickets, we recommend buying online at cfrcalatori.ro in advance. In this way, you to avoid long queues from the ticket offices in the station and also discounts are available if buying online return tickets well in advance. It is also worth noting that if buying tickets online you need to do so at least 12 hours before the train is due to depart. After that, you will need to purchase them from the station or a CFR ticket agency.
❗From the Izvoru Oltului train station we will arrange the transport to Bălan, but you need to let us know your arrival time in Izvoru Oltului 48 hours in advance.

Reimbursement of transport
❗The participant has to consult with us before buying the ticket and obtain our written confirmation that we agree on the chosen transportation means and route before buying any travel tickets. We will only reimburse approved tickets.
❗The participant has to be on the project for the whole duration and has to attend all the sessions in order to be eligible for reimbursement. Provide the organizer with the proof of the travel insurance.
Each participant will be reimbursed up to a maximum limit, based on justificative documents (plane ticket, boarding passes, bank extracts and/or train/bus ticket).

Examples of ineligible transportation: personal car/gas ticket, priority boarding, seat reservation, additional language, business class tickets, plane tickets on longer routes, plane tickets with stops for one night or more, taxi, rented cars, private transport companies, travel starting or ending in different country than the sending organization’s country, etc.
❗The sums that are not used by one participant will not be transferred to other participants who exceeded the travel budget/person.
For electronic ticket/receipt/invoice, the document has to be delivered in PDF format. If it’s on a website, it has to be saved as PDF or printed into PDF. Screenshots or forwarded emails are not accepted.
Note: Reimbursement will be done in EURO, regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice. If the ticket is bought in local currency, we will calculate your travel costs in EURO based on the exchange rates required by Erasmus+ programme. Each country will be reimbursed in maximum 10 days after we obtain all the necessary transport documents from all the participants from that specific country.
For each country, we will make one bank transfer to the bank account of the partner organization. The partner organization will further divide the money among participants in cash or by bank transfer.
❗In order to be reimbursed each participant has to come prepared with the following printed documents:

-Ticket or invoice containing the dates, route, and price. (usually is the e-mail you receive when you buy the tickets);
-Bank extract with the amount written on the ticket – this is the proof that money left the account towards the transport company;
-All the boarding passes in the original version.
For Online Tickets (bus and train):

The participants are required by Erasmus+ program to have a valid travel insurance that covers liability to third parties for the whole period of the projects including the travel days. Supplementary, we also recommend our participants to get the European health insurance card.
You are free to choose your insurance.
✰ Weather conditions: in Bălan, the average temperature in March is between -5 °C and 10 °C and during the day. Please check accuweather.com for more updated information about the weather.
✰ Currency in Romania: is Romanian LEU (RON), 1 EURO is about 4.5 RON.
✰ Dress code: Casual comfortable sports wear, slippers or sneakers for indoor, waterproof jacket and comfortable shoes for outdoor activities. Hiking clothes are recommended because we will organize a hike during the free time and hiking enthusiasts are encouraged to take part.
✰ Cultural nights: each country is expected to prepare a program to present their culture, to bring some typical local drinks and foods and prepare a cultural program like a presentation of local tradition, music, dance etc.
✰ Meals: we will provide you with three meals/day and two coffee breaks. The meals will take into account all the participants dietary aspects such as allergies, intolerance, and preferences. We will also have a vegetarian menu.
In case any of the participants will miss any deadline (for the application or for sending us travel documents) or a partner fails to confirm its participants by the deadline, we reserve the right to choose different participants from any of the partner countries for replacement.
